Courage, the original definition of courage, when it first came into the English language- it’s from the Latin word Cor, meaning heart - and the original definition was to tell the story of who you are with your whole heart. -Dr. Brené Brown

Counselor, Therapist

Laura Hodges, LMFT

Laura is has faced with courage the journey to becoming a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, in Florida, Minnesota and Wisconsin. This journey comes with 20 years experience working in non-profits, governmental and private agencies supporting individuals , couples and families to find or rediscover their own courage.

Areas of focus Laura enjoys; include trauma recovery for individuals; supporting couples while they heal from wounds that are affecting the relationship; as well as supporting families as they process the difficulties arising from a variety of matters ranging from communication difficulties to inter-generational trauma.  Additionally, she enjoys working with client’s that are looking to explore and more fully integrate their sense of complete self through the lens of history, culture and spiritual wellbeing.

With all that said, sometimes we are more comfortable to talk with someone when you know more about them than just what they do for work. Laura comes from the Gulf Coast area and has spent most of her adult life in Minnesota and Wisconsin aka the Bold North. Her life experiences have not always been what some might call a “traditional path”, yet that has enhanced her ability fully embrace life and relationships with courage. When Laura is not at work she enjoys traveling, learning about history and culture, southern cooking, being out in nature, enjoying good bouts of laughter and spending time with those she loves.
